Summer Stuff with Dad

One of the things you might have noticed while browsing through our summer fun is that Clay is not present in A LOT of the pictures. Most of this is because we do a lot of our adventures during the day while he is at work, but a major reason why he is missing from most of the activities is he is a guy and cannot STAND to have his picture taken. So sometimes when an opportunity presents itself I grab my camera as fast as I can and SNAP! One of the things I have gotten the kids hooked to is going yard saleing with me on Saturday mornings. The first time we went Tate learned a valuable lesson because a house had a Thomas set and when I said he could not play with it he threw a fit....so into the car he went and did not get to look at another yard sale. Now he knows you cannot throw fits when you go to a yard sale! Anywho when we went out the next weekend we found something pretty cool...a train set. It is a train that people buy at Christmas time to go around the tree; it was in mint condition and they had the price set at 10. I was sitting there debating because I wanted to buy it but I was soo wishing Tate was not with me because I would have wrapped it up for his bday, but he was with me so oh well. The lady was like I will take 7 for it so I jumped on it! When we got home that was all Tate did and here were a few pics of Clay helping the kids with the train!

On July 25, 2011, we went for another picnic up in the South Hills but this time it was later so the men folk could come too. We got there first so while we walked in the water & of course threw rocks in the water I told Clay that I had no pictures of him with the kids so he agreed to take a picture!! Good thing too because as the night went on his mood went downhill so I would have never gotten a picture out of him. Here he is with the kids in the water!

Tate with what else....a rock in his hand he could do this ALL day without stopping. ALL BOY for sure!

South Hills Hike

On July 21, 2011 we went on a picnic up in the South Hills during the day with some of the Stanger Clan. Josh had his fishing gear, but the fish were not biting and it does not help when all the kids just want to throw rocks in the water! But even though we did not catch a fish we had a ton of fun just hanging out with the cousins, playing in the water, eating picnic food, and avoiding (some were not so lucky) horse flies! We always love going on adventures with the Stanger Clan in the summer time it just has been a lot easier this year to hang out with everyone because I do not have to go around cheer schedules or work!

July 15-17th

Finishing up our trip to Blackfoot.....on Friday we headed to Idaho Falls to do a little shopping! Always something I am up for :) It was fun to be with everyone and of course being with f-a-m-i-l-y. We went to Kohl's, TjMaxx, Ross, the mall, & Sam's Club. The kids were definitely worn out by the end and when everyone went to the distribution center I stayed in the car while Tate took a nap..and I needed the rest too. My kids wear me out big time sometimes, but I love it!

My kids reading @ Ross while I looked around the area :))

I really wish Twin had one of these play areas because it is a fun break for the kids while shopping, but it would also come in handy during the winter!

Good thing I make this girl wear leggings because you can see why!

On Saturday Martice, Maren, the kids, and I all went to the park in Blackfoot to celebrate Blackfoot Pride Days! It was seriously the best way to spend time with the kids and have fun at the same time because not only did we watch the snowmobile races across the lake, but the kids were able to cool off in the lake as well. I really wish Twin had a place like that, but being in Twin it would be more like white trashville then staying this nice lol...I kept looking around the whole time thinking wow this is a pretty decent crowd; there was not a lot of people walking around smoking, drinking, or wearing basically nothing when they should not be! Definitely not something that would happen in Twin! After being out at the lake all day we went to Genese's again to hang out and say our goodbyes! We took the kids to the dollar store to pick out a prize and then off to Martice's for the night!

After we go the kids out of the water we walked around the park area, rode the train, & Maren wanted to get a feather extension well Brittley decided she wanted one too! I have to admit I hate them (well strongly dislike) so I was really trying to talk her out of it, but she decided she needed it....so here we are getting an extension! Brittley picked out an all pink feather with a fatter top so instead of lying flat it would stick out, so funny and cute. Well it made her happy so I am glad that I let her do it, even though I think it is very silly!

Before we left on the 17th I took pictures of the kids one last time. We had a lot of fun, but after doing a camp for 3 days & then being in Blackfoot for the rest of the week I was extremely tired, irritable, & worn out. It had been real, it had been fun, it had been real fun, but I was sooo ready to go home! Thanks for the memories & great week everyone!

We also had to get pictures with the trains for Tate's sake because of his crazy obsession with trains!
